Sofia Ouhri Ten Best, Week 7

  1. Photograph number seven is my favorite. The content is honest and humorous. Your composition adds to the narrative by focusing primarily on the dogs in the stroller, the man is secondary. This composition seems to lie true to actual circumstance, I imagine that the man who owns these dogs puts them before himself, enough to allot the dogs the luxury of not having to walk. Some of your photographs have minimal contrast. I would suggest trying to work and seek that out in the earlier stages of production.

  2. I like how these photographs together give me the experience of being at this thrift shop/market. I think the different off angles of these photos really make that happen. I can imagine myself walking through, looking down to see glassware, looking up to see the puppets hanging, glancing at people...and smiling inside at the dogs in the stroller. Image 7 is definitely a favorite for it's humor. The compositions are interesting, but several of the photos need more clarity and exposure adjustments in certain spots, such as on images 2 & 6.

  3. i love the subject matter vibe of a mishmash kinda clash of everything in one place. I think the second photo, although has a couple dark spots could handle more contrast. I love the witty and sort of out of place aspect of the poodles. The tone feels light and like you are appreciating all of the quirks in tho place.

  4. These are some really fun pictures. You play with depth of field successfully in all of them, giving importance to the oddities. I really appreciate the thoughtful composure of each image I see with your work. I agree that some could use a contrast boost. However, I think the fact that you have intentionally blurred out areas of your pictures really works so I wouldn't up the clarity.
