My favorite ones are #6, 8, & 9. The clarity and range of value in these complex textures are expertly done. I also really like the abstractness of images like 3 & 8.
You really succeeded in contemplating otherwise overlooked sights. It reminds me of National Geographic for Kids, which had super zoomed-in photos of objects that you had to unjumble the names of to identify. Photos 7 and 10 seem the most alike to me in that they both to some degree employ a horizon line. Both features a darker (almost weighted down) lower register, and a lighter upper register punctuated by some object or other (bird versus unidentifiable object, perhaps flag?). The duality of the images - their similar tonal range and overall composition - definitely suggest fluidity amongst the pieces.
Your photographs this week are amazing! They all seem like they belong to a series. I love photographs four, five, six, and seven, seven being my favorite. The exposure and editing in all your images is very successful. In photograph number four there is such a nice tension between the bark and the black negative space. The texture is really fantastic in this image.
like the ones in the critique last week, I m seeing a pattern of your photos and how intimate they capture things. Almost like micro views of small imperfections. The contrast looks great in all of them, the under water one i wish had a little more of the dark spot in the bottom left corner brought further in the frame, just enough to make it the rule of thirds, i think that would make the composition more interesting and feel more active.
Your images are so relaxing- almost meditative- to look at. You really have an eye for finding the beauty in simplicity. The fourth image is absolutely incredible. The contrast and composition make the image both tense and relaxing. Excellent job.
