Best 10 Fazio week 9

  1. These photographs are very sharp to the extent that I can really feel the textures of feathers of the statue as well as the building in the 10th photograph. The last photograph is favorite, I admire that you shot it from this angle and it creates this nice empty space to the right of the image. The contrast between the very decorative columns and lower part of the building versus the simple walls on higher stories seems to play with how detailed things are up close than from far yet with a building shot from this angle!

  2. I love the mind play here. You have us second-guessing what we see and interpret in the way of texture. The plumage of the swan statue isn't truly revealed until we're given a zoomed-out scope. It reminded me of the National Geographic For Kids magazines, where they would show you a zoomed in photo of a fruit or plant or bristly object and you would have to unscramble the clue to figure out what you were seeing. The old VW in front of Black & Brew also manages to sort of subvert expectations, with that paint job that for all intents and purposes is unnatural and surprising (this effect is added to by the crouching perspective you shot the photo from!).

  3. The close up of the swan feathers really abstracts the image and makes the viewer contemplate what they're looking at, which is great. Your perspective on the last one also disorients the viewer. The way you shoot your images really involves the audience and piques their interest in the abstracted subject matter

  4. You're images are very crisp and detailed. The composition's of your images are also done very well. The lights and darks are just the right amount in each image.
