Emily Tran 10 Best

  1. These photos are really neat to look at mostly due to the outfits and the subjects themselves. I don't know if maybe you've changed your theme. So, when I look at these through the lens of your presence as a photographer I would have to say I don't think they were quite successful in capturing that. I feel like in this case the tilt of the camera isn't enough to show me your presence, when looking at fashion models one tends to just check them out. However, as pure pictures there are some nice shots but some get a bit too dark. Your seventh picture is really quite pretty, I especially enjoy this tension that her hand has against all the folds in her outfit.

  2. Compositionally, these photos are really cohesive (the unilateral jaunty-hip, over-the-shoulder pout). My personal favorite is photo ten, because of the intrigue that having the model's eyes cloaked in shadow adds. But in terms of your concentration, I lean more towards photo five, of the sanitation engineer/nuclear reactor physicist. In that image, the model seems to be making eye contact with you as the photographer. couple this with the fact that the stark white of the outfit flashes out of the depths of the black background, and you get a theatrical kind of confrontation between subject and viewer.

  3. These pictures were very well executed. They look like professional shot from the fashion show's website. The subjects in the images are very interesting and really draw our attention. the change of angles in each picture keeps the viewers drawn. the lighting is also just the right amount for pictures such as these.

  4. These photos are really great- I love the angle that you captured the models at! The photos just seem a little dark to me. I like the dark mood of these photos but I would be especially careful when printing them. I also am not quite sure how these fit into your theme and I would like to see more photos that went with your theme since those were very interesting!
