I was going to mention at crit today that you should explore taking more aerial photos, and her you are, two steps ahead of me! The fresh perspective adds a surveillance-camera-type aspect to the shots, and adds to the ominous, lurking danger quality. Image nine is perhaps my favorite. The upturned umbrella juxtaposed with the bike lane figure offers two uniquely different takes on human absence: the former suggesting that someone has been snatched/kidnapped/abducted, and the other that there are no more people to bike at all. Going don that same extraterrestrial vein, photo two reminds me of harsh UFO lights and flying saucers - the fact that the stadium lights are so violently bright and directed at the viewer makes them feel like they're on display.
These shots are just what you needed, they really pump up the visual interest by a lot just with this perspective. The football field shot with the straight line of light is especially neat to me. I feel like you should keep running with this idea of places that are often hectic being now silent. Your eight photo has really nice symmetry, it's cool how the right side has a light out and the left side has an unlit structure. Number 9 has to be my favorite picture of all though, it's just so haunting. Once again you have this element that one can imagine has an active past but it's now immersed in silence.
Not only is the subject matter and composition of all these photos fit your theme, but the editing style throughout looks almost cinematic with how crisp and contrasted it is. My favorite is the 9th photo, it makes the viewer question the story behind it.
The images are super crisp and look like stills from a movie. I really like how you were able to capture the images from higher heights that really add something different to your theme. The contrasts are done really well in these set of images, an improvement from your past because some would be very dark, but in these images you were able to capture a lot of the different details.
