Your first image is comical and candid and the repetition of the hammocks makes for an interesting image. Coincidentally, the hammocks' values increase as they go up, which is nice on the eyes.
The fact that the Color Run is rendered in black and white mystifies the atmosphere, lending it a sort of apocalyptic tone. And the hammock photos add to the barracks/refugee-camp grittiness.
I agree with Emily. The first photograph in this series is quite powerful. The central composition and laying of angular lines is done with fine precision. The values in the hammocks ranging from dark to light was a great observation and adds overall harmony to the rest of the photograph.
I really enjoyed the first photo, the fact that the hammocks are uneven and some of the people are visible while others are not adds character to the image. I also loved the new take on the color run pictures. After seeing so many images in color on social media sites, the quality black and white images add a new perspective, and capture the people's reactions in the moment rather than just clouds of color.
The collection of photographs, with the exception of Krsipy Kreme and the record player, examines social activities between large groups of people that can be both relaxing and engaging. The contrast between these groups' physical motion complements the nature of group socializing which works very well as a whole.
